Principal's Message:
Off to a Great Start!!
November 9, 2009
Dear Parents and Families,
The first marking period ended one week ago. I would like to thank all of the parents for assisting our student body into getting off to a great start for the 2009-2010 school year. On Thursday November 12th report cards will be distributed to all students during their Block One class. As we begin the second marking it is important for students having difficulty in a class to seek assistance. We offer free after-school tutoring on Mondays and Wednesdays as well as running activity buses on those days. Next semester we are looking into expanding our activity buses one additional day each week depending on the budget.
This month we will have tryouts for winter sports which will begin in December. I would like to thank all of our student-athletes that competed in the fall and I appreciate all of the parental support we had for our teams. A special congratulations to Charise Rodriguez of the Marching Band for being selected as a member of the US Army All American Marching Band. Additionally, Stonewall had over 30 students selected for All County Honors Choir.
I am also excited to announce that currently Stonewall has more students enrolled in our specialty program, approximately 925 students at this time, than any other PWC High School. There are two information sessions scheduled on November 18th and January 12th for rising high school students and their families to learn more about our IB and IBMYP programs.
The year is moving along quickly and I am excited about the direction we are heading in as a school community. Thank you for all of your continued support for Stonewall.
Sincerely,
Richard Nichols
Principal
