As we approach the end of the school year, many classes will be completing a variety of tests.  Please see the links below for the various testing schedules.
IB and AP Test Schedule: May 2 - 24
VA State End-of-Course SOL Test Schedule: May 7 - 22
Final Exam Schedule: June 5 - 15

Makeup dates for students who were absent for the End-of-Course SOL tests are as follows:  May 23 - All math tests and May 24 - All science, social studies and reading tests.  Students will receive test passes the morning of their test.
Expedited retakes (for students who did not pass the SOL but are within a certain score range) will not occur until the week of May 29th.  More information will follow closer to the testing time.

Parents: If you have not created your own account on Parent Portal, or you need to edit your contact information, now is the time.  Parent Portal WILL NOT be updated with Summer School Information and no Summer School Information will be sent to SchooolFusion.  Some key dates to remember:
Friday, June 1st- Parent Portal Registrations and Online Contact Editing will be turned off and no further registration or edits will be accepted until after the new school year transition.  No NEW Parent accounts will be created until the fall.
Monday, June 18th - All updates to Parent Portal will stop and no further data updates will be sent to SchoolFusion until Fall.  Any pending parent registrations that have not been processed will be deleted and those parents will need to reapply next year.

The Underclassmen Award Ceremony will be held May 31, 2012 at 2:15 pm in the SJHS Auditorium.  The Senior Awards Night will be held June 5, 2012 at 7:00 pm in the SJHS Auditorium.

Stonewall's Class of 2012 Graduation Ceremony is going to be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Jiffy Lube Live. Students and their parents will be expected to sign and adhere to the Document of Decorum which includes dress code and behavior guidelines for the ceremony.

Yearbooks are in and can be picked up and purchased starting this Wednesday, May 16th, after school, in the Journalism Room.  If you haven’t purchased one yet the cost is $70 cash only – get your book before they are gone because they won't last long.

Stonewall Jackson High School will be hosting an outdoor movie at the end of May. All ticket profits will go to the Relay for Life (American Cancer Society). Our own Winter Guard will be selling snacks at the event to raise funds for their team. Come support your fellow Raiders and enjoy the show! SJHS is participating in Operation: Help-A-Hero.  This is in honor of Cpl. Garrett Carnes and 9 other wounded Marines that are recovering at Walter Reed/Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland.  These Marines have all been seriously injured by IED's while serving in Afghanistan and have lost limbs while protecting our country.  Please consider making a donation to help this cause.  A list of needed items can be viewed by clicking here.  In addition, monetary donations (checks) are welcomed and should be made out to SJHS with Operation: Help-A-Hero in the subject line.  For more information, please contact Lisa Stafford at staffolm@pwcs.edu.

Congressman Gerry Connolly and Prince William County Schools will host an information session on May 21, 2012 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at the Kelly Leadership Building.  Any students interested in attending one of the military academies should attend.  For more information, please see this flyer.

The 4th Annual Raider 5K will be held Saturday, June 2nd at 8:00 am at SJHS.  The race will begin and end at SJHS.  The proceeds benefit the SJ HPE Department and football program.  Please see the course map.  All of the physical education classes will be training for the race using the training schedule.  Cost is $10.00 for SJ students & staff, $20.00 for non SJ students.  Last year we had over 1100 runners.  Our goal is to have over 1500 in 2012.  Registration forms can be downloaded, printed, and sent into Raider 5K c/o Coach Dougherty, Stonewall Jackson High School, 8820 Rixlew Lane, Manassas, VA 20109.

After parents register for the Parent Portal, they will receive an email within 3 business days.  Please print the information from the email and bring it to Stonewall Jackson High School's front entrance security desk between 6:45am and 3:00pm on any regular school day or on SJHS Back-to-School Night, October 4th, from 6:30 pm - 9:00pm.  We will collect the information and check your ID.  After everything is checked, your account will be activated within 2 business days. Students and parents are reminded that during midterm and final exam weeks, all absences from exams require pre-approval from an administrator.  Absences compromise test security and complicate the grade reporting process.  Very few requests for make-up exams will be granted.  Acceptable reasons for missing an exam include a death in the family, a court date or a serious illness.  Please schedule doctor’s appointments and family trips around these exam weeks.  They are scheduled well in advance.  Midterm exams will be given the week of January 23 through January 27, 2012.  Final exams for seniors begin the second week in June.  For all others, final exams are administered between June 11 and June 15, 2012.

Manassas Mall is pleased to offer its School Sense incentive program for a second year to help local schools earn free computers, a/v tools, sporting equipment, and more. Parents and teachers can turn in purchase receipts from any Manassas Mall store (excluding J.C. Penney, Macy's, and Target) to the mall management office to earn points for the school of their choice. Participating schools can then "shop" from a catalog of supplies with their cumulative school points. Since last year, our School Division as a whole has accumulated more than 255,000 points.
