PSAT on October 15
All 10th and 11th graders will be taking the PSAT on Wednesday, October 15th.  9th graders will be taking a practice PSAT at the same time.  The 12th graders will have Senior activities planned including a breakfast.

Apple FCU Homecoming Sweepstakes
Open a new account with $20 or make a $20 deposit to an existing account and enter a raffle for $100 towards a limo, Homecoming Dance Tickets, a tux, gown or anything else your heart desires.  All students and faculty are included.  It's a great time to save at Apple Federal!
Costumes Needed
Costumes are badly needed for the SJHS BOOsters Bash haunted house characters.  Any kind of costume will do.  Costumes that are lent will be returned. Contact coraidersboost@aol.com if you can help!
Fall Boosters Bash
Come Join Us & BOOgie on down at the 2nd Annual “Stonewall Jackson High School - Fall BOOsters Bash” being held Sat., October 18th from 9:00 am - 9:00 pm at SJHS. Admission to Bash grounds is only $2.  Games and amusement tickets are $.50-$1.  Farmers & Flea Market opens @ 9:00 am.  The BOOster Bash gate opens @ 10:30 am.  See the PTSO page or the BOOster Bash flier for more information. 
Yearbook Baby Ads
It's that time of year again when you can buy a spot in the yearbook to place a picture of your senior student with a message from you.  Deadline for submissions is Friday, November 14, 2008.  See the flyer for details.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is breast cancer awareness month.  There will be a fundraiser held in the 1st floor cafeteria October 6 - 17  and the 2nd floor cafeteria October 13 - 17.  In addition, October 17th will be "Pink Day."  Students and faculty are encouraged to show their support and help raise awareness of breast cancer by wearing pink.
Internet Safety
Prince William County will be offering three opportunities for parents to learn about Internet Safety: 10/20/08 at Battlefield HS, 10/29/08 at Hylton HS Auditorium, and 11/4/08 at Stonewall Jackson HS.  Each of these events will begin with light refreshements at 7:00 pm follwed by the presentation at 7:30 pm.  For more information about these events, see this flyer.  For more information on Internet Safety visit www.netsmartz.com or view this presentation.
National Achievement Scholarship
Samantha A. Jordan, a senior at Stonewall Jackson High School, is one of five Prince William County students that have been named as semifinalists in the National Achievement Scholarship Program.  Congratulations, Samantha... and good luck!

National Hispanic Heritage Month
Sept. 15th through October 15th is National Hispanic Heritage Month.  Did you know?  September 15 was chosen as the starting date for Hispanic Heritage Month because it is the anniversary of independence for five Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua; all declared independence in 1821. Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September 18, respectively.

SchoolFusion - Student Accounts
All students have had accounts created for them using their student number as the user id.  Initial passwords are set as 'password1' until you change it.  Passwords can be changed in the "My Personal Settings" section once you are logged in.  Additionally, email addresses can be entered in this area.  Please follow the steps to validate your email address so that forgotten passwords can be emailed to your address.  Lastly, students have been "joined" to all their classes this year, although you still can request to join clubs and sports.
